I don’t have Windows 10 – will my computer stop working?
On January 14th, Microsoft ended it’s support for Windows 7. As you now have probably realized, this does not mean that your computer using Windows 7 will stop working. What it does mean, is that Microsoft will no longer provide the following:
- Technical support for any issues
- Software updates
- Security updates or fixes
Now you might be thinking, “So what? I didn’t know they were providing those services anyway.” Without the updates and security fixes, you are at a greater risk for viruses and malware. If your computer does become infected, Microsoft will not provide you any technical support.
The best way to stay secure is to upgrade to Windows 10. Some computers, however, may not be able to handle the upgrade. By giving us a call at Tech Unlimited, our team can help you make the best, informed decision on whether you can upgrade your existing computer or if a new computer would be more cost effective and efficient. After your decision is made, we will help you every step of the way to ensure your data has the best protection possible.
